Dupont Hospital receives the "Gold Hospital of the Year Award" from Triad Hospitals, Inc. The Gold Hospital of the Year Award is the result of an annual evaluation of each Triad hospital. The award is based on satisfaction scores, quality improvement and financial performance. The selection process also involves consideration of extraordinary events and cooperation between the hospital and the community it serves. Triad Hospitals operates more than 50 hospitals nationwide.

Dupont Hospital and World Partners USA host physicians and an administrator from Kazanlak, Bulgaria, during a weeklong professional and cultural exchange marking the first sister hospital partnership between facilities in the United States and Bulgaria.

Representatives from Dupont Hospital join a delegation from World Partners USA during a visit to the eastern European country of Bulgaria. World Partners USA is a Christian-based organization committed to multi-level development of people around the world. The group was invited by the Bulgarian government to study and make recommendations for the improvement of its healthcare delivery system. Dr. Mike Schatzlein and Dr. Stephen Coats were asked to present initial findings to top government officials regarding the need to convert the healthcare delivery system from the one that evolved under Communism to one that is market-based.

Secondary Development Plan for Dupont Hospital and attached medical office building granted by the Allen County Plan Commission.

Revised Primary Development Plan for Dupont Hospital and attached medical office building approved by the Allen County Plan Commission.

1995
Revised Primary Development Plan approved by the Allen County Plan Commission, allowing for the development of the outer portion of Dupont Medical Park for medical and light commercial usage.  Forty acres in the center of the park are set aside for a future hospital and additional medical office space.

1994
Phase II of Dupont Medical Center (2510 Medical Office Building) is completed.  This 43,000 square-foot addition includes more medical office space and the Dupont Surgery Center.

1990
Phase I of Dupont Medical Center (2510 Medical Office Building) is completed.  This 47,000 square-foot facility includes physician offices, urgent care, radiology services and a retail pharmacy.

1988
The Allen County Plan Commission approves Initial Primary Development Plan for Dupont Medical Park.  Projects include medical office buildings, a diagnostic center, an acute care hospital and other medical facilities.

December 1984
St. Joseph Hospital purchases 125 acres of land southwest of the Dupont Road / I-69 interchange for the purpose of expanding medical services to northern Fort Wayne and Allen County.
